MATERIALS

High-density polyethylene (HDPE)

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is available in thicknesses from 0.75mm to 3mm and is produced with either smooth or textured surfaces. HDPE geomembranes are fusion-welded together to produce a geomembrane lining system that can provide a completely impermeable barrier to seal substances in or out.

Typical applications for HDPE geomembranes include environmental containment systems for the protection of groundwater including Brine Storage Ponds, Water Conveyance Structures, Landfill Cell Linings and Evaporation Ponds. HDPE geomembranes are manufactured to meet and exceed the GRI GM13 specification

Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)

LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) has many of the same characteristics as HDPE but is more flexible and may be folded. It is also not quite as chemical or UV-resistant as HDPE. Due to its higher level of flexibility it is often preferred for floating covers or in landfill capping applications.

Geosynthetic clay liners

GCL (Geosynthetic Clay Liner) is comprised of a layer of Sodium Bentonite/ Montmorillonite captured between 2 geotextile layers. It can be used as a Primary liner (confined under an earth backfill layer), but is more often used as a secondary liner under a HDPE or other Primary liner.

Geotextiles

We offer a variety of geotextile materials, with grades ranging from 100 gsm to 2000 gsm. Geotextiles are a popular geosynthetic material used in the civil engineering sector, with this material resistant to biodegradation in most applications.

Geotextiles are available either woven or non-woven. It is a type of filter cloth that comes in various grades and thicknesses. Often used as a protective layer under a geomembrane liner, or as a cushion layer over a geomembrane liner to protect the membranes from drainage aggregate (e.g. in a Landfill). It is also used as a filter layer separating aggregates to waste or clays either side of a HDPE Geonet

Drainage net (Geonets & Geocomposites)

Tri-planar products consist of centralised middle HDPE ribs to enable channelised flow and diagonally placed top and bottom strands to minimise geotextile intrusion. The void-maintaining core structure of this product provides higher transmissivity than bi-planar products.

Geonets are synthetic drainage materials manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resin. They are designed to transmit fluids and gasses in a wide range of field conditions.

Geocomposites consist of a geonet heat bonded with a non-woven needle-punched geotextile. They are designed to provide drainage filtration, keep silt and soil particles from clogging, and increase friction characteristics.

Geo-Grid

A geogrid is geosynthetic material used to reinforce soils and similar materials. Geogrids are commonly used to reinforce retaining walls, as well as subbases or subsoils below roads or structures. Soils pull apart under tension. Compared to soil, geogrids are strong in tension. This fact allows them to transfer forces to a larger area of soil than would otherwise be the case.

Geo-Cells

Geocells are widely used in construction for erosion control, soil stabilization on flat ground and steep slopes, channel protection, and structural reinforcement for load support and earth retention. Typical cellular confinement systems are made with ultrasonically welded high-density polyethylene (HDPE) which are expanded on-site to form a honeycomb like structure and filled with sand, soil, rock, gravel or concrete.

Bituminous Geomembranes

Bituminious Geomembranes are a more robust material compared to the standard HDPE/LLDPE membranes. They are made from bitumen and contain reinforcing geotextiles layers. The seams are heat bonded together and can be tested visually by air lance or vacuum box testing methods. Seams can also be destructively tested to determine if the strength of the weld is as per the specification requirements

HDPE Pipe

Piping made from polyethylene is a cost effective solution for a broad range of piping problems in municipal, industrial, marine, mining, landfill, duct and agricultural applications. It has been tested and proven effective for above ground, surface, buried, slip lined, floating, and sub-surface marine applications. High-density polyethylene pipe (HDPE) can carry potable water, wastewater, slurries, chemicals, hazardous wastes, and compressed gases.
